A Little About Me
I’m a prairie girl. I grew up in the smallest of towns, with dreams to spare. I never felt like I fit in anywhere, still kinda don’t. On the surface quite modest and nice, until I spoke. I tried to be good, my journal will tell you, but foul language and weird exclamations overflowed.
Ordinary was not on my list. I wanted to do something grand. Weddings and babies and houses, no thanks. I wanted to travel the world and look at different people and eat their food. I wanted to know myself. I wanted something to fill the void inside of me.
I started reading. And writing. I discovered Martha Beck. I became a coach. I learned that I’m good enough. I’m not broken. Foul mouth and all, I am worthy. And so are you.
Peace entered. I have power. I know love. I don’t have to learn how to love from a book. Love is what’s left when you remove the story.
I seek meaning and knowledge like a pig sniffing out a truffle. I am learning to embrace the fluidity of my beliefs and desires. My natural gifts and abilities have auditioned for the lead, and they got the part.
I love telling stories and hearing stories. I just want to read and write. I believe I could spend a good chunk of my life on just those two things and be blissfully happy about it.
I’m learning about silence. As a “look at me, look at me” youngest child, I sometimes forget to stop talking and just breathe in the space around me. To marvel at the beauty that is in everything. To quiet my mind long enough for peace and grace to flow in.
On the flip side of silence, I also like being in front of a camera. My essential self does a happy dance and takes over.
I like to laugh. I like to make people laugh.
I like to love.
I am a certified Martha Beck Life Coach, and am currently in training to become a Mind Body Coach with Abigail Steidley.
